CAD Engineer-Sensors Modules & Mounting Scope of Role CAD, Battery pack, energy storage Area of Responsibility
The CAD Engineer – Sensors, Modules & Mountings is responsible for the 3D design, detailing, and integration support of powertrain sensor modules, electronic modules, and their mounting solutions. The role supports module and system engineers by delivering high‑quality CAD models and drawings, ensuring packaging feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with OEM standards throughout the KO to SOP development cycle.
Knowledge / Experience – 3 to 5 Years Essential:
Create, modify, and maintain 3D CAD models and assemblies for sensors, electronic modules, and mounting components using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE Develop 2D drawings with appropriate GD&T, tolerances, and automotive drawing standards Support powertrain packaging and integration activities at component and module level Perform interference checks, clearance analysis, and basic tolerance stack‑ups Ensure CAD deliverables meet OEM standards, CAD best practices, and naming conventions Support design iterations and engineering changes (ECR/ECO) from KO to SOP Collaborate with module leads, system engineers, and vehicle integration teams to resolve CAD‑related issues Interface with suppliers for CAD data exchange, reviews, and updates Support DFMEA, design reviews, and build support activities Release CAD data through PLM systems in line with project milestones Tools - CatiaV5/V6, 3D Experiance, Vismockup, Teamcenter, MS tools
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
