Job Description:
Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Digital ASIC Backend Design Engineer to strengthen our mixed-signal ASIC design team in the Sensors Business Unit. You will play a crucial role in the design, development, and validation of digital modules for our industrial, medical and automotive sensing solutions with a strong focus on backend implementation and sign-off activities. You will work closely with our System Architect, our analog/mixed-signal/digital designers other backend- and Verification engineers. Job Requirements
Own and execute full digital backend flow from synthesized netlist to GDSII
Perform and optimize:
Floorplanning & Power Planning
Placement & Optimization
Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS)
Routing & Physical Verification
ECO flow
DfT
Drive timing closure across all corners and modes
Perform and sign off:
Static Timing Analysis (STA)
DRC/LVS closure
Support power, IR-drop, electromigration (EM), and signal integrity analysis.
Logic equivalence checks (LEC)
Maintain and improve Place & Route scripts and flows (Cadence-based preferred)
Ensure robust, reusable backend infrastructure
Support handover, documentation, and knowledge transfer within the team
Work closely with Frontend/RTL designer, Analog/mixed-signal designers and Verification engineers
What your background should look like
BSc/MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or similar
Experience in digital ASIC backend design
Strong hands-on expertise in:
Place & Route tools (Cadence Innovus or equivalent)
Static Timing Analysis (Tempus, PrimeTime, etc.)
Proven track record of successful tape-outs
Solid understanding of:
Timing closure techniques
Low-power design concepts
Digital design flow from RTL to GDSII
Analog layout skills (DRC, LVS, matching …) are a plus
Competencies SET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers)
