Job Description:

Job Overview The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for managing and optimizing production lines, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and implementing solutions that increase efficiency, productivity, and overall operational performance. This role ensures the effective use of resources while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and applicable industry regulations (Mil-Spec, Nadcap, etc.). The position requires strong analytical skills to evaluate manufacturing data, solve complex production challenges, and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that support business objectives and operational excellence. What your background should look like Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience may be considered.

Minimum 2 years of experience in:

Product transfers and manufacturing transitions Production line balancing Manufacturing layout interpretation and design Troubleshooting and problem-solving Cross-functional communication and collaboration

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office SAP knowledge AutoCAD skills SolidWorks skills

Conversational English Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and tools Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Yellow Belt preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Operations & Process Improvement

Drive productivity and efficiency improvements within assigned production areas. Develop and implement process improvements using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 4-Blocker projects. Support manufacturing initiatives and provide technical guidance to production teams. Conduct line balancing and time studies to optimize workflow and capacity. Analyze product families and manufacturing segmentation opportunities. Design and optimize production line layouts. Reduce manufacturing process scrap and improve yield.

Engineering Support & Documentation

Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including:

Process Manufacturing Cards (PMC) Control Travelers (CT) IPCRs Routings Assembly Visuals (AVs) Mylars

Approve and implement process changes. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and part number certifications. Support product transfer activities when applicable.

Problem Solving & Quality

Investigate manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving tools. Participate in RMA, RCA, FRB, and 8D investigations. Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.

Training & Leadership

Certify assembly operators and support workforce development. Provide training on procedures, tools, specifications, and manufacturing methods. Mentor Manufacturing Engineer I personnel and Manufacturing Technicians. Lead cross-functional projects and interdepartmental activities. Promote effective communication across teams and departments.

Continuous Improvement

Design and implement fixtures, poka-yoke devices, and process enhancements. Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives. Propose, lead, and complete TEBITS projects. Promote and sustain 5S workplace organization practices.

Daily Activities

Support production priorities and operational needs. Track and follow up on purchasing requisitions and material requirements. Monitor manufacturing performance and resolve process-related issues.
