Job Description:
Job Overview Staff Electrical Engineer plays a critical role within the Manufacturing Engineering team, supporting new product introduction (NPI), automation development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a key interface between product development and manufacturing, ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable electrical and automation solutions.
Lead electrical and automation design during new product development, including feasibility evaluation, system architecture definition, custom equipment design, and support for pilot runs and process validation.
Support mass production by developing and optimizing automation solutions, troubleshooting electrical/control systems, and improving efficiency, stability, and OEE during ramp-up and steady-state operations.
Drive continuous improvement by upgrading existing equipment, standardizing electrical designs, enhancing control performance, and supporting digitalization and smart manufacturing initiatives.
Job Requirements
Design, develop, and maintain electrical and control systems for automation equipment (PLC, HMI, servo systems, sensors, vision systems, etc.)
Support NPI activities, including equipment development, debugging, and validation to meet production and quality requirements
Act as the primary technical interface with automation vendors, ensuring clear and timely communication
Collaborate with vendors to install, debug, and qualify automation equipment, ensuring project milestones are achieved
Provide hands-on technical support during pilot runs, production startup, and changeovers
Troubleshoot complex electrical and automation issues on production lines
Guide and support technicians in equipment maintenance and line operations
Develop and maintain equipment documentation, including work instructions and preventive maintenance (PM) procedures
Drive continuous improvement in automation performance, quality, cycle time, and cost
Support supplier qualification and equipment acceptance processes, equipment validation.
Perform other tasks assigned by management
What your background should look like
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
Minimum 6 years of experience in automation equipment design and manufacturing
Fluent in English, communication skills and interpersonal skills, patient, communication and writing skills with a commitment to quality performance.
Proficient in PLC programming (Omron, Siemens, Mitsubishi or equivalent) and HMI development
Strong knowledge of automation components: Vision systems (e.g., Keyence, Cognex), Sensors, pneumatics, servo motors, motion control systems
Experience in medical devices or high-precision manufacturing is a plus
Proven experience in custom (non-standard) automation equipment development (design + debugging)
