Job Overview Broad role for defining project activity with a specific field of expertise, in addition to full responsibility for their own assigned projects.

Job Requirements Job Overview Join our Product Development team as a Staff Data Scientist Engineer. You will lead data-driven initiatives, applying advanced analytics to solve complex engineering challenges and influence the design of cutting-edge high-speed connectivity products. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will transform data into actionable insights that drive critical design decisions and enhance product performance.

Key Responsibilities

Translate engineering challenges into analytical problems and solve them using advanced methods (e.g., physics-based modeling, DOE, statistics, simulation).

Acquire, clean, and analyze large, multi-source datasets to identify trends and inform product/process design.

Develop custom algorithms for mechanical/signal integrity modeling and early-stage product validation.

Build tools and processes for efficient data collection, enabling traceability and large-scale correlation analysis.

Clearly present data-driven findings and complex results to diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Support reliability testing, troubleshooting, and technical customer requests.

Embed best practices to reduce costs and improve "first-time-right" design and manufacturing.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related STEM field.

  • 10+ years of experience in quality assurance or reliability engineering.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (Stamping, Plating, Assembly, Molding) and GD&T.

  • Practical experience with Six Sigma tools (e.g., FMEA, 8D).

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, JMP, Minitab) and a solid grasp of how mechanical principles affect electrical performance.

  • Familiarity with product development processes, 3D CAD, and simulation tools.

  • Preferred

  • Experience with HSIO cages/connectors, cable assemblies, or OTB products.

  • Knowledge of metal and plastic material properties.

  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and a collaborative problem-solver.

  • What your background should look like Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
