• This job posting is for an existing, active vacancy and We are looking to hire Senior Node.js Developer in Canada (Remote), immediately who has strong experience in JavaScript, backend architecture, and experience building high-performance APIs and microservices.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Node.js Developer with 5–8+ years of software development experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in JavaScript, backend architecture, and experience building high-performance APIs and microservices.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain server-side applications using Node.js

Design and implement RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services

Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems

Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and QA teams

Integrate third-party services, APIs, and databases

Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Implement security and data protection best practices

Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

Required Qualifications

5-8+ years of backend development experience, including 3–5+ years with Node.js and strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)

Experience building scalable APIs (REST required, GraphQL a plus) and working with asynchronous/event-driven systems

Hands-on experience with Node.js frameworks (Express.js required, NestJS preferred)

Solid experience with databases: relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), plus ORM/ODM tools

Strong understanding of authentication & security (JWT, OAuth, RBAC, API security best practices)

Experience designing microservices and distributed systems, including caching and messaging (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)

Proficiency in Git and collaborative development workflows

Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha) and writing unit/integration tests

Strong knowledge of performance optimization, debugging, and monitoring in backend systems

Excellent communication and collaboration

Ability to drive technical decisions and take ownership

The pay range for this role is CAD $90,000 - CAD $110,000* per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
