Database Track Engineer

Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security. Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and configurations. Manage database backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery strategies. Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and optimize data models. Troubleshoot database issues, including performance degradation, connectivity problems, and data integrity concerns. Implement and maintain database security policies, including user access controls and encryption. Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities. Automate routine database administration tasks using scripts and tools. Provide support for database-related incidents and service requests as part of on-call rotation. Document database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference. Years of Experience: 4 to 10 years of hands-on experience in database administration and optimization. Educational Qualification & Certifications (Optional): BE in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft SQL Server DBA, or AWS/Azure database certifications are a plus. Skill Set Required: Must Have: Strong experience in database administration (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL). Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Knowledge of database security, user access control, and encryption techniques. Hands-on experience with database migration and upgrade processes. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation. Nice to Have: Experience working with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL). Knowledge of high-availability solutions (clustering, replication). Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices related to database deployments.
