Software Architect

Role Overview: As a Software Architect at Techdome, you will have the opportunity to own the architecture behind healthcare and payment products at scale. Unlike traditional architect roles where you are disconnected from the code, here you will be accountable for the decisions you make, ensuring the systems are built according to the standards set by you. You will defend your architectural choices in various scenarios such as PRs, incident reviews, and client interactions. This is a hands-on ownership role where your decisions directly impact the success of the products. Key Responsibilities: - Own the architecture of healthcare and payment platforms, including system design, service boundaries, data modeling, API contracts, and non-functional requirements. - Design HIPAA-grade and PCI-aware systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, data security, and privacy. - Lead technical decisions such as build vs. buy, monolith vs. services, and integrations with third-party tools. - Elevate the engineering standards across products through code review standards, reference architectures, and mentorship. - Architect AI-native workflows and systems, incorporating AI as a fundamental component. - Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to grow senior engineers into leads. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 8 years of experience in building production software with a focus on system design. - Deep expertise in MERN stack, with the ability to architect and work hands-on with Node.js and React. - Strong cloud architecture skills on at least one major provider (AWS / GCP / Azure). - Experience designing systems in regulated domains such as healthcare (HIPAA/PHI) or payments (PCI-DSS). - Ability to make critical decisions and effectively communicate and justify them to the team. - Accountability for the outcomes of your architecture in production.
