About the role
Key Responsibilities : - Plan, design, and execute SQL Server migration projects from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.- Migrate databases to Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS).- Utilize Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) for seamless database migration.- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.- Configure and manage backup, recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.- Monitor database health, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize system performance.- Implement Azure networking, storage, monitoring, and security best practices for database environments.- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure successful migration and deployment.- Prepare migration plans, technical documentation, and post-migration validation reports.- Support production databases and ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security.Required Skills : - 6-10 years of experience in SQL Server Administration/Database Engineering.- Strong expertise in : 1. SQL Server Administration2. Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI)3. Azure SQL Database4. Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS)5. Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)- Hands-on experience in On-Premises to Azure Database Migration Projects.- Strong knowledge of : 1. Performance Tuning2. Database Optimization3. Backup & Recovery4. High Availability (HA)5. Disaster Recovery (DR)- Experience with : 1. Azure Networking2. Azure Storage3. Azure Monitoring4.
