About the role
Responsibilities: - Administer and support VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware products. - Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, ensuring optimal performance and security. - Perform server backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures. - Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. - Manage and troubleshoot network storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and iSCSI. - Ensure that all servers are up to date with the latest patches, security updates, and configuration changes. - Implement and manage server virtualization, including VM creation, snapshots, and cloning. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and deployments. - Perform capacity planning and optimization of system resources. - Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. - Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests within established SLAs. - Maintain and monitor server security, including firewalls, antivirus, and other security measures. - Ensure compliance with IT policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Requirements: - Proven experience as a VMware Administrator or Server Administrator. - Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and other VMware solutions. - Experience with server hardware, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. - Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate tasks and streamline processes. - Proficiency in configuring and managing network storage solutions (SAN/NAS). - Experience with backup and disaster recovery systems. - Ability to troubleshoot complex server and virtualization issues. - Excellent understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). - Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - IT certifi .
