About the role
Good to have skills: Network Support, Firewall Configuration, Switch Configuration, Network Troubleshooting, Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Proxmox). Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Network & Virtualization Engineer to support, manage, and optimize IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with network support, firewall and switch configuration, troubleshooting complex network issues, and managing virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Nutanix. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our enterprise network and virtualized environments. Key Responsibilities: - Configure, manage, and maintain enterprise firewalls (e.g. Sophos, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, and SonicWALL). - Monitor, maintain, and support LAN/WAN network infrastructure. - Install, configure, and maintain virtualized infrastructure (VMware ESXi/vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox). - Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, performance problems, and outages. - Implement firewall rules, NAT policies, VPNs (site-to-site and remote access), and security policies. - Manage intrusion prevention, content filtering and application control. - Regularly review and optimize firewall configurations to strengthen network security. - Configure and maintain L2/L3 switches (VLANs, Trunking, STP, port security, routing, etc.). - Perform switch deployments, upgrades, and patching.* Manage network segmentation and traffic optimization. - Perform VM provisioning, resource allocation, optimization, and backup/recovery. - Ensure network and virtualization platforms meet security standards and compliance requirements. - Monitor and analyze network traffic, system logs & alerts to detect and respond to threats. - Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and incident logs. Required Skills & Qualification: - Any graduate with proven experience in network support and troubleshooting. - Experience working with firewall platforms such as Sophos, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, etc. - Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Nutanix. - Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network security.
