About the role
Test execution:Performing manual testing based on provided test plans and scripts, including functional, regression, and usability testing. - Defect logging:Identifying and documenting software defects in a bug tracking system, providing clear descriptions and steps to reproduce issues. - Test case creation:Assisting in developing test cases based on requirements and user stories. - Requirement analysis:Understanding software requirements and translating them into executable test cases. - Collaboration:Working closely with developers to communicate identified defects and verify fixes. - Reporting:Providing regular updates on testing progress and summarizing test results to stakeholders. - Learning and development:Actively acquiring knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices. Required skills: - Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) - Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies - Good communication and problem-solving skills - Ability to learn new technologies quickly - Basic knowledge of test management tools - Familiarity with different testing types (functional, regression, usability) Note: While a junior tester role typically focuses on executing existing test cases and reporting defects, it can be a stepping stone to more advanced testing responsibilities like test automation and design.
