About the role
We are seeking a senior New Product Development professional to lead innovation at our Packaging Unit. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in paper-based packaging development, with strong expertise in folding cartons, corrugated packaging, rigid boxes, and specialty paper packaging. This role will be responsible for driving product innovation from concept to commercialization while ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities: 1. New Product Development & Innovation: Lead end-to-end new product development for paper packaging solutions including folding cartons, corrugated boxes, rigid boxes, and specialty structures Develop innovative, value-engineered, and sustainable paper packaging concepts Identify opportunities for material optimization, structural innovation, and cost reduction 2. Customer & Market Engagement: Work closely with sales and key customers to understand packaging requirements and briefs Support customer meetings, presentations, mock-ups, and sampling for new developments Translate customer needs into technically feasible and scalable paper packaging solutions 3. Technical & Process Development: Evaluate paperboards, substrates, coatings, and finishes suitable for different applications Lead trials, prototyping, and validations on printing and converting equipment (Heidelberg, Bobst, die-cutters, gluers, etc.) Ensure new developments meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards 4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with production, design, procurement, costing, and quality teams Ensure smooth handover of finalized products to manufacturing Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for new materials and technologies 5. Project & Cost Management: Manage multiple NPD projects with defined timelines and cost targets Work closely with costing teams to ensure commercial viability of new products 6. Documentation & Knowledge Management: Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, BOMs, and product specifications Capture best practices and learnings for continuous improvement 7. Sustainability & Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives in sustainable paper packaging, recyclability, and material reduction Stay updated on global paper packaging trends, regulations, and innovations Qualifications : 1. Degree in Packaging Technology, Printing Technology, Engineering, or related field 2. 15+ years of experience in New Product Development Paper Packaging 3. Strong knowledge of paperboards, corrugated materials, folding cartons, and rigid boxes 4. Hands-on experience with printing and converting processes 5. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex projects 6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
