You are a dynamic and experienced professional being sought for the role of Assistant Manager with a strong expertise in component machining, New Product Development (NPD), fixture/tool selection, and CNC programming. Role Overview: As an Assistant Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead and support machining-related NPD activities from concept to production. You will develop machining process plans for new components to ensure quality, productivity, and cost optimization. Additionally, you will be responsible for the selection and validation of cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and work-holding systems. Your role will also involve preparing and optimizing CNC programs for various machines, driving cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and process capability enhancement. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and support machining-related NPD activities - Develop machining process plans for new components - Select and validate cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and work-holding systems - Prepare and optimize CNC programs for VMC/HMC/CNC turning machines - Drive cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and process capability enhancement - Coordinate with design, quality, production, and suppliers for project execution - Conduct feasibility studies, process trials, and PPAP/APQP activities - Troubleshoot machining and tooling-related issues - Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards Qualification & Experience: - B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field - 5+ years of experience in machining manufacturing environment - Experience in automotive, compressor, precision machining, or heavy engineering industry preferred Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of component machining processes and manufacturing engineering - Hands-on experience in CNC programming (Fanuc/Siemens/Mazak or equivalent) - Good understanding of fixture design concepts and cutting tool applications - Exposure to NPD activities, process validation, and industrialization - Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and machining tolerances - Experience in cycle time optimization and process improvement initiatives - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / TPM practices preferred Preferred Traits: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities - Result-oriented with hands-on approach on shop floor activities You are a dynamic and experienced professional being sought for the role of Assistant Manager with a strong expertise in component machining, New Product Development (NPD), fixture/tool selection, and CNC programming.
