About the role
Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading and supporting machining-related New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept to production implementation. Your role will involve developing machining process plans for new components, selecting and validating cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and work-holding systems, as well as preparing and optimizing CNC programs for various machines. You will drive cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and process capability enhancement while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards. Coordination with design, quality, production, and suppliers will be essential for smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and support machining-related NPD activities from concept to production implementation. - Develop machining process plans for new components ensuring quality, productivity, and cost optimization. - Selection and validation of cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and work-holding systems. - Prepare and optimize CNC programs for VMC/HMC/CNC turning machines. - Drive cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and process capability enhancement. - Coordinate with design, quality, production, and suppliers for smooth project execution. - Conduct feasibility studies, process trials, and PPAP/APQP activities for new components. - Troubleshoot machining and tooling-related issues on the shop floor. - Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards. Qualification Required: - B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. - 5+ years of experience in a machining manufacturing environment. - Experience in automotive, compressor, precision machining, or heavy engineering industry preferred. Additional Details: The company prefers candidates with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities, and a result-oriented approach with hands-on experience in shop floor activities. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / TPM practices is also preferred.
