Job Role: Senior Engineer - Quality & Innovation Reporting To: Manager - Quality & Innovation Role Overview The Senior Engineer - Quality & Innovation plays a critical role in ensuring that construction projects meet stringent quality standards, while also fostering innovative practices across the project lifecycle. This position supports quality planning, inspections, material testing, documentation, and drives continuous improvement to align with evolving industry standards and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance Planning & Strategy Implement the Quality Assurance (QA) strategy across residential and commercial construction projects. Apply QA procedures, standards, and guidelines aligned with industry norms and project requirements. Collaborate with project teams to define quality objectives and support their achievement within scope, timeline, and budget. Quality Control & Compliance Ensure adherence to project specifications and applicable quality benchmarks in all construction activities. Monitor quality control processes related to materials, workmanship, and on-site execution. Conduct quality audits on construction sites to ensure procedural compliance. Review technical documentation (drawings, BOQs, material submittals) for quality alignment. Material and Product Testing Manage the testing and inspection of construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, tiles, etc.) to validate compliance. Oversee testing of raw materials and finished work to ensure durability and quality. Maintain quality certificates and ensure proper documentation from accredited laboratories. Site Inspections & Monitoring Conduct site inspections to track quality performance during project execution. Identify deviations from quality standards and initiate corrective and preventive measures. Ensure a safe and quality-compliant work environment at all times. Team Support & Knowledge Sharing Support the QA team by offering technical insights and on-site guidance. Organize training and awareness programs for project teams, contractors, and subcontractors. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous quality improvement across teams. Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized records of QA/QC activities, inspection reports, NCRs, and testing results. Prepare periodic reports on project quality metrics and escalate key issues. Conduct root cause analysis and propose innovative and sustainable solutions. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions Identify, document, and resolve non-conformities (NCRs) in processes and materials. Lead implementation of corrective and preventive actions and track their effectiveness. Maintain performance records for team members and assist in performance reviews. Vendor and Subcontractor Management Evaluate and ensure that suppliers and subcontractors meet defined quality parameters. Participate in audits and inspections of vendor/subcontractor deliverables. Collaborate with procurement and site teams to ensure compliance in material and execution quality. Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards Ensure compliance with local codes, statutory regulations, and industry standards (IS codes, ISO 9001, etc.). Keep updated with new technologies and quality standards relevant to construction in Pune and India. Integrate green building and sustainability initiatives into QA processes. Customer Satisfaction & Quality Innovation Ensure that final deliverables meet client expectations and contractual quality terms. Act promptly on client feedback and concerns related to quality. Support initiatives that enhance innovation and quality excellence in construction projects.
