Snowflake DBA - Immediate Joiner - 4+ Years (Mumbai)

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Snowflake DBA / Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, administering, and optimizing Snowflake Data Cloud environments. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, SQL development, performance tuning, security, and cloud-based data warehouse solutions. Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake data warehouse solutions. - Administer and manage Snowflake environments, including database creation, schema design, warehouses, roles, and users. - Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, tasks, and streams. - Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, query execution, and warehouse utilization. - Implement data security, encryption, masking policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and governance standards. - Perform data migration from legacy databases to Snowflake. - Design and implement ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake and integration tools. - Configure and manage Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, Time Travel, and Fail-protected features. - Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. - Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions. - Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and monitoring strategies. - Ensure adherence to best practices for database administration, performance tuning, and cost optimization. - Support CI/CD deployment processes for Snowflake objects. - Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures. Required Technical Skills - 4+ years of experience in Snowflake Development and Database Administration. - Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture and administration. - Advanced SQL programming skills. - Hands-on experience with Snowflake features: - Virtual Warehouses - Snowpipe - Streams & Tasks - Time Travel - Zero-Copy Cloning - Data Sharing - Secure Views - Materialized Views - Experience in performance tuning and query optimization. - Knowledge of data modeling (Star Schema and Snowflake Schema). - Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Matillion, Talend, Azure Data Factory, or dbt. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). - Good understanding of Python or Shell scripting for automation. - Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines. - Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools. - Strong understanding of database security, RBAC, and governance. Preferred Skills - Experience with dbt for data transformation. - Knowledge of Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools. - Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools. - Familiarity with Data Lake architectures. - Understanding of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform is an added advantage). - Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Relevant Snowflake certifications such as SnowPro Core Certification are preferred. - Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are an added advantage. Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. - Strong documentation and organizational skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have - Experience working with large-scale enterprise data warehouse implementations. - Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks. - Knowledge of data integration with Kafka or REST APIs. - Experience with automation and infrastructure provisioning. - Exposure to financial services, healthcare, retail, or manufacturing domains is an advantage. .
