About the role
As an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 68 years of experience, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server databases. Your key responsibilities will include: - Optimizing database performance through query tuning, indexing, and schema improvements. - Developing and maintaining stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers. - Monitoring database health, troubleshooting issues, and implementing maintenance tasks. - Reviewing database-related code, schemas, and design changes. - Defining database development standards and best practices. - Collaborating with developers and product teams on data-layer design and enhancements. - Leveraging AI tools and automation to improve DBA workflows and efficiency. To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills: - Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing, transactions, locking, and concurrency. - Hands-on experience with database maintenance, backups, recovery, and performance tuning. - Expertise in stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. - Experience with database jobs, monitoring, and automation. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Additionally, it would be nice to have experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra), exposure to graph/vector databases (Neo4j, Pinecone, pgvector), knowledge of AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL, and experience using AI/LLM tools for database administration. Qualifications required for this role include a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Relevant PostgreSQL or Microsoft database certifications are a plus.
