About the role
As a Vice President of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading engineering teams in developing cutting-edge software solutions using Java and AWS technologies. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing technical leadership and direction across all engineering functions - Architecting and overseeing the development of scalable Java-based applications hosted on AWS - Leading the design and implementation of modern cloud-native solutions using AWS services - Building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team of engineers - Collaborating with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure timely project delivery - Defining and implementing best practices for code quality, scalability, security, and reliability - Driving the adoption of agile methodologies, continuous integration, and DevOps practices - Monitoring technology trends for innovation and improvement - Owning the engineering roadmap and ensuring alignment with business goals Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership/VP role - Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and microservices architecture - Deep experience with AWS cloud platform and services - Proven experience managing large engineering teams and scaling technology platforms - Excellent understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and cloud-native principles - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - Experience in agile software development, DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation practices Preferred qualifications include AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.) and experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
