About the role
The primary skill required is OpenShift Virtualization (infrastructure management), with additional experience in VMware virtual infrastructure. OpenShift (Primary) Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift 4.x, with solid Kubernetes fundamentals. Strong Linux administration skills (preferably RHEL). Experience performing cluster upgrades, patching, and production operational support. Positive understanding of OpenShift/Kubernetes concepts including namespaces, deployments, operators, RBAC, SCC/PSA, services, and ingress/routes. Proven troubleshooting skills across networking, storage, and compute layers. Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD. Experience migrating workloads from other platforms to OpenShift. Familiarity with observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) and incident/problem management practices. VMware (Secondary) Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, clusters, HA/DRS, vMotion). Experience using Lifecycle Manager/Update Manager, including patch baselines and images. Understanding of server firmware, driver compatibility, and platform lifecycle considerations. Strong troubleshooting across compute, network, and storage interactions. Experience working within regulated change management environments. Automation/scripting experience with tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible, and Jenkins.
