About the role
As a Python Automation Engineer at TEKsystems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our products by designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and automated testing. - Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues efficiently. - Implementing BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and Behave to enhance test automation. - Providing technical guidance on best practices for testing and ensuring compliance with industry standards. - Conducting manual and automated testing to verify software and hardware functionality. - Analyzing test results, generating reports, and providing recommendations for product improvements. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria. - Troubleshooting and debugging issues in various environments. - Continuously exploring new testing tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance testing effectiveness. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. - Proven experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a similar role. - Proficiency in testing tools, scripting languages (Python, bash, etc.), and automation frameworks. - Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and Behave. - Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. - Hands-on experience with Jira and Xray for test management, defect tracking, and reporting. - Strong expertise in Linux administration, system troubleshooting, rpm package management tools (dnf, yum, etc.). - Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Github. - Ability to fluidly change context and priorities based on business needs. - A passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and a drive for innovation. - Strong teamwork skills and the ability to actively contribute to group efforts while fostering a positive work environment.
