Design Engineer Electrical (LT / HT / Marine Panels) Location: Guindy, Chennai Experience: 38 Years Working Days: 6 Days a Week (Monday Saturday) Industry: Electrical Panel Manufacturing / Engineering Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to develop accurate, reliable, and standards-compliant designs for LT, HT, Control, Specialized, and Marine Electrical Panels. The candidate will be responsible for preparing electrical drawings, engineering calculations, BOMs, and technical documentation while coordinating closely with estimation, production, QA, and project teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Electrical Design & Engineering - Prepare SLDs, schematic diagrams, wiring drawings, GA drawings, and control circuit diagrams for electrical panels - Design LT/HT power and control panels in accordance with customer specifications and project requirements - Select suitable breakers, relays, meters, CTs, protection devices, and other panel components - Develop relay logic, interlocks, and control philosophies for various applications 2. Engineering Calculations & Technical Compliance - Perform busbar sizing, short-circuit calculations, load calculations, thermal calculations, and cable sizing - Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, and relevant marine classification standards - Review customer specifications, technical documents, and compliance requirements - Ensure safety, reliability, maintainability, and manufacturability in designs 3. Documentation & BOM Preparation - Prepare BOMs, terminal schedules, cable schedules, datasheets, and technical documentation - Generate engineering documents required for manufacturing, testing, and project execution - Maintain design revisions and engineering change documentation 4. Cross-Functional Coordination - Coordinate with Estimation, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, and Project teams for smooth project execution - Provide technical clarifications to internal teams, customers, and vendors - Support manufacturing teams during assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting activities 5. Testing & Customer Support - Support FAT, SAT, inspection activities, and client technical discussions - Assist in resolving technical issues during production, testing, and commissioning - Participate in customer meetings and provide technical presentations when required Key Skills & Competencies - Strong knowledge of LT/HT electrical panel design and engineering - Hands-on experience in AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN - Good understanding of electrical protection systems and relay logic - Knowledge of IEC, IS, and panel testing standards - Familiarity with busbar design, control wiring, and panel layout engineering - Ability to interpret technical specifications and electrical drawings - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills Qualifications - Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Experience - 38 years of experience in LT/HT electrical panel design and engineering - Experience in PCC, MCC, APFC, VFD, Synchronizing, Control, or Specialized panels preferred - Marine panel design experience will be an added advantage What We Offer - Prospect to work on technically challenging industrial and marine projects - Exposure to advanced electrical systems and engineering practices - Growth-oriented and collaborative work environment How to Apply Interested candidates can send their updated resume to with the subject line Design Engineer Electrical Panels.
