Field Application Engineer (HDD)

Organization & Role

Teradyne Field Applications team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, driven Field Application Engineer who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.

Location: Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, South Korea (LG Innotek)

Responsibilities

• Develop test processes including test strategy, interface design, ATE, test software, fixturing, software tools, documentation, training, and process control capabilities.

• Integrate new processes into production. Serve as a technical resource for factory operations.

• Investigate and develop more efficient test processes utilizing metrics to indicate results. Go beyond individual defect investigation & characterization to understanding defect trends to influence testing directions.

• Data collection, analysis, SW debug to find out root cause at customer site with excellent performance.

• Develops and maintains a high degree of customer satisfaction and credibility by providing innovative, timely solutions to system problems.

• Weekly or even daily analysis reports to the field services team and Teradyne engineering team.

• Moderate travel is required, both within Asia and to the US to work with the larger engineering team and other customer service teams.

• Basic Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics is preferred.

• Familiar with embedded system FPGA/Microcontroller architecture

• Familiar with SPI/I2C/SMBUS/UART inter-communication

• Familiar with network knowledge, DHCP, TFTP service and TCP/IP communication.

• Understand basic electronics circuits and debug capability.

• Familiar on both Windows and Linux basic command.

• Good skills in statistical software tools for complex data analysis and report.

• Knowledge of .NET framework, C/C++/C# programming with Visual Studio.

• Application or Test Development engineer in semiconductor/HDD/automation test process industry is advantage.

• Knowledge of developing test software on LabVIEW or MATLAB is advantage

• Fluency in English required.

• Good attitude and enthusiastic to work.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience.
