About the role
VLSI Analog Layout Candidates undertaking VLSI Layout course will be equipped with the foundational and applied skills required to design analog and digital cell layout for integrated circuits. They will gain knowledge on semiconductor process and doing custom IC layout for analog and mixed signal circuits using the latest EDA tools. They will acquire skills to work at multiple levels of design hierarchy, from block level to top-level chip layout design. They will learn to use design rule checks to ensure that the layout meets the design and fab process requirements. For this they will use EDA verification tools for connectivity and extracting parasitics of the circuit. They will work closely with designers on specific circuit requirements, e.g. power, matching, sensitivity, latch-up, ESD, etc. They will also learn to use automation scripts like Skills to bring efficiency in their work output. They will acquire knowledge to create mount and bond diagrams for IC Packaging and the flow for tape-out.
