About the role
Role Overview: As a Low Level Software Programmer at the company, you will be an integral part of the Software team responsible for developing the next generation InFlight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite. Working within a Scrum/Squad team, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and testing changes in the Android-based client components as well as the Linux-based server components while meeting quality objectives. Post deployment of changes, you will also be expected to provide support in investigating and resolving any remaining issues. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement Linux server programming. - Ability to modify/create services in the Android framework/Platform, not just caller of the Framework services. - Design and implement software changes on Linux based server. - Demonstrate a quality-focused mindset in terms of software delivery, adhering to code maintainability and testability within the software development lifecycle phases. - Support the IFEC system Verification and Validation phase and In-Service team. - Proactively work with a sense of urgency and accountability in an Agile-driven (Scrum/Squad) environment within the context of the sprint commitments, interacting with Product Owner and Software Architect. - Contribute to the continuous improvement process to increase competitiveness. Qualification Required: - Bachelors or master's degree in computer science or related engineering discipline with 8+ years of industry experience. - Experience in low-level software development, including Linux kernel development, testing, and troubleshooting of distributed software systems. - Proficiency in C++/C programming for application/services. - Experience in Linux kernel or server programming and debugging. - Modification/creation of services in Linux kernel/Android Framework, not just calling framework services. - Proficient in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, tech design, implementation, code review, testing, and release. - Proficiency in Linux platform. - Ability to troubleshoot issues during the development lifecycle and utilize necessary tools to measure software quality/performance. - Experience in network protocols (tcp/udp/rtp) and analyzing network traffic (tcpdump, tcpreplay, etc).
