Responsibilities Apply SRE core tenets of measurement (SLI/SLO/SLA), eliminate toil, and reliability modelingEnable and educate development teams on industry best practice design patterns, ways of working and operational knowledge to ensure platform continuityDevelop and architect solutions to infrastructure and operational aspects of new products and feature setsAssist with go/no go preplanning, verification/validation, and review of existing and new product/servicesProactively analyze data and test the integrity of network/systems to ensure production applications and services are operating optimallyWork within development teams to troubleshoot and resolve business affecting issuesEscalations, incident response, RCA, and blameless postmortemParticipate in on-call rotation Qualifications At least 5+ years of professional experience within a cloud/web/CDN scale infrastructureExpert Linux troubleshooting in production: isolate CPU vs memory vs IO vs network bottlenecks quickly; hands-on with top/htop, vmstat, iostat, sar, pidstat, ss, lsof, dmesg, and journald/systemd.Strong networking fundamentals + practical debugging: deep understanding of TCP/UDP and routing basics; can prove issues using curl, dig, mtr/traceroute, nc, and tcpdump.DNS & HTTP(S) clarity: understands resolver vs authoritative, TTL/caching, SERVFAIL/NXDOMAIN patterns; knows HTTP 502/503/504 meaning and common LB/proxy failure modes.TLS/SSL proficiency: understands certificate chain, expiry, SNI mismatch, handshake failures; can validate quickly using openssl s_client and interpret output.Production mindset: prioritizes mitigation first (rollback/disable/route around), then RCA; writes clear runbooks and automates repeat fixes to reduce toil.Expert knowledge of Linux systems, network programming and protocols TCP, UDP, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTPExperience with BGP and Anycast routing is a plusExperience with DevOps principles and concepts such as Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Saltstack), CI/CD (Gitlab, Jenkins, Git), monitoring and visualization (Prometheus, Grafana)Experience with big data technologies such as NoSQL/RDBMS, Redis, ElasticSearch, KafkaExperience with containers and container management (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience analyzing and building data telemetry, modeling, pipelines, UI visualizationExperience in developing software, troubleshooting, and monitoring large scale distributed systems At Thales, were committed to fostering a workplace where respect, trust, collaboration, and passion drive everything we do.
