Software Engineering Associate Advisor - HIH - Evernorth

Software Engineering Associate Advisor Evernorth, a leading Health Services company, is looking for exceptional engineers/developers in our Data and Analytics organization. In this role, you will actively participate with your development team on initiatives that support Evernorth's strategic goals as well as subject matter experts to understand business logic you will be engineering. As a software engineer, you will help develop an integrated architectural strategy to support next-generation capabilities on an enterprise-wide scale. You will work in an agile environment, delivering user-oriented products. The ideal candidate will work in a team environment that demands technical excellence, whose members are expected to hold each other accountable for the overall success of the end product. Focus for this team is on the delivery of innovative solutions to complex problems, but also with a mind to drive simplicity in refining and supporting of the solution by others Roles & Responsibilities Design and build backend services for AI-enabled applicationsIntegrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise systemsImplement structured outputs, tool/function calling, and safe interaction patternsDevelop and maintain APIs and service integrationsEnsure systems are secure, observable, and production-readyCollaborate with product, architecture, security, and platform teamsLead technical design and review effortsMentor and support other engineers Qualifications Required Experience & Education: 8+ years of software engineering experienceStrong experience with backend development (Python, or similar)Experience building and operating cloud-based systems (preferably AWS)Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and service designExperience with authentication, authorization, and secure system designFamiliarity with logging, monitoring, and production supportExperience working with graph-based or relationship centric data Required Skills: Python for integrating or working with AI/ML systems, Cloud Experience (AWS) Preferred Skills, Experience & Education: Familiarity with LLM-based application patterns, prompts, responses and basic evaluationUnderstanding of responsible and controlled AI usage in production systems Nice to Have: Experience with AI orchestration, workflows, or agent-based patternsKnowledge of semantic technologies or knowledge graphsExposure to emerging AI integration standards or protocolsExperience building internal platforms or shared services About Evernorth Health Services Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, creates pharmacy, care and benefit solutions to improve health and increase vitality.
