Job Opening: NPD Manager (New Product Development) Location: Mohali, Punjab Industry: Sheet Metal Manufacturing Position: NPD Manager New Product Development Salary: 5.00 7.00 LPA (Based on experience, technical knowledge & interview performance) Job Summary We are looking for an experienced NPD Manager to lead New Product Development (NPD) activities from customer enquiry to successful production launch. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in sheet metal manufacturing, product costing, engineering drawings, APQP/PPAP documentation, and cross-functional project management. Key Responsibilities Lead complete NPD projects from RFQ to Mass Production. Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements. Conduct product feasibility studies and prepare development plans. Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new products. Prepare BOM, Process Flow, Routing, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation. Prepare accurate product costing and cost estimates for customer quotations. Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality. Coordinate tooling development, sample preparation, product trials, and validation. Work closely with Design, Production, Quality, PPC, Purchase, and Tool Room teams. Prepare and submit APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC documents. Monitor project timelines and ensure on-time product launches. Resolve technical issues during development and production trials. Participate in customer meetings, audits, and technical discussions. Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency. Qualification B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory) Certification in Product Design / AutoCAD / SolidWorks will be an added advantage. Experience 410 years in New Product Development (NPD) within the Sheet Metal Manufacturing Industry. Experience with OEM customers and Automotive/Agriculture Components will be preferred. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Manufacturing Processes. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Hands-on experience in Product Costing & Cost Estimation. Knowledge of Laser Cutting, CNC Machining, Press Shop, Bending, Welding, Fabrication, and Assembly. Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings & GD&T. Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Tools, Fixtures & Jigs.
