Powder Coating Engineer-Sheetmetal/Furniture Industry

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Powder Coating Engineer to supervise and control the complete pre-treatment and powder coating process , ensuring superior finish quality, corrosion resistance, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency. Location: Bhiwadi Experience: 3 to 8 Years Salary: 3-6 LPA Industry Preference: Sheet Metal / Automotive Components / Electrical Panels / Switchgear / Engineering Manufacturing Key Responsibilities Pre-Treatment Process Supervision (Nano PT / Spray PT) Supervise complete spray pre-treatment operations Monitor and control chemical concentration, pH, temperature, conductivity, and sludge removal Troubleshoot process issues such as poor adhesion, flash rusting, patchy treatment, and oil contamination Coordinate with chemical suppliers for process corrections and improvements Powder Coating Operations Supervise electrostatic powder coating booth operations Control gun voltage (kV), air pressure, powder flow, and booth cleanliness Monitor curing oven temperature, dwell time, and coating parameters Ensure DFT compliance as per specifications Manage shade changes / colour changeovers efficiently Improve first-pass yield and minimize rejection/rework Quality Control & Testing Conduct and monitor coating quality checks including: Cross hatch adhesion test DFT measurement Impact resistance Gloss testing Salt spray / corrosion resistance testing Maintain inspection reports and quality records Ensure compliance with ISO / customer quality standards Problem Solving / Continuous Improvement Conduct RCA for coating defects: Peeling Orange peel Pinholes Poor levelling Uneven coating Implement CAPA initiatives Improve transfer efficiency Reduce powder consumption and rework Production & Team Management Supervise operators and shop-floor manpower Plan shifts and ensure achievement of daily production targets Drive shop-floor discipline, productivity, and 5S implementation Safety & Compliance Ensure safe handling of chemicals and powder coating materials Maintain MSDS documentation Ensure ventilation systems, PPE compliance, and safe working practices Desired Candidate Profile Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Production / Chemical Engineering / Paint Technology 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in powder coating operations Experience in sheet metal / automotive / switchgear / electrical enclosure manufacturing preferred Strong understanding of pre-treatment chemistry, electrostatic powder coating, curing, and quality testing Hands-on troubleshooting and process improvement orientation
