About the role
As a part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you will be contributing to meaningful work that positively impacts a global scale. Your role as an Engineer III Test & Verification (V&V) will involve supporting sustaining engineering, VAVE, and lifecycle management for the KingFisher sample preparation systems and Detection instruments in Hyderabad. Key Responsibilities: - Test & Verification Development: - Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) plans for subsystems and system-level requirements. - Design and implement test methods, protocols, and test cases to evaluate product performance and reliability. - Define acceptance criteria and traceability to system requirements. - Develop and maintain test documentation, reports, and data analysis. - Test Execution & Analysis: - Perform hands-on testing, including functional, performance, and reliability testing. - Analyze test data to identify trends, failures, and performance gaps. - Support root cause investigations by providing test data and insights. - Collaborate with engineering teams to validate design changes and fixes. - Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Support: - Support sustaining activities through verification of design updates, ECOs, and component changes. - Ensure continued compliance with performance and quality requirements across product lifecycles. - Contribute to risk assessments and validation strategies for product updates. - Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE): - Support cost optimization initiatives by validating alternative components and design changes. - Develop test strategies to ensure performance is maintained or improved with cost reductions. - Contribute data-driven insights to support design trade-offs and decision making. - Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Work with global R&D teams to align on test strategies and support knowledge transfer. - Collaborate with systems, electrical, mechanical, and firmware teams to ensure comprehensive validation coverage. - Partner with quality, manufacturing, and service teams to address field issues and improve product robustness. - Collaborate with Business Unit Product Management to support execution aligned with product priorities. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related field). - 5+ years of experience in test engineering, verification, or validation roles. - Experience developing and executing test plans, protocols, and reports. - Strong skills in data analysis, problem solving, and root cause investigation. - Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments. You will be a key individual contributor in developing and executing verification and validation strategies, ensuring product performance, reliability, and quality through robust testing, and supporting design changes and issue resolution across the product lifecycle. Your collaboration with global teams and contribution to cost optimization initiatives will be valuable in driving the company's mission forward.
