Role Overview: As a Senior Programmer Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in performing advanced bioinformatics programming activities for statistical and computational considerations of research projects. You will act as the lead programmer on selected studies of moderate complexity, working closely with project team leaders and client representatives to assess and develop project goals and timelines. Additionally, you will independently create, execute, maintain, and validate programs that transfer data across multiple data management systems, generate reports, and validate programs that generate listings, tables, and figures using SAS. Your role will also involve providing training and guidance to junior team members to enhance their professional skills and knowledge base. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the lead programmer on selected studies of moderate complexity, collaborating with project team leaders and client representatives - Independently create, execute, maintain, and validate programs for data transfer, report generation, and validation using SAS - Provide training and guidance to junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge base - Communicate actively and frequently with other team members as needed - Manage and document assignments to meet timelines and deliver high-quality work - Increase knowledge base and professional skills in programming technology and techniques, clinical trials, and the pharmaceutical industry - Provide general infrastructure support to the department, including representing the company at industry conferences and contributing to departmental documents or policies Qualifications Required: - MS/MA degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience - Solid understanding of one or more programming languages - Comprehensive problem-solving and innovative skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Capable of independently organizing and managing multiple assignments with challenging timelines - Demonstrated positive attitude, enthusiasm toward work, and ability to work well with others - Strong understanding of relational database structure and complex data systems - Capable of training and mentoring others - Capable of providing quality control review for statistical programming Additional Company Details: Thermo Fisher Scientific values passion, innovation, and a commitment to scientific excellence.
