About the role
As a Staff Mechanical (TPD) Engineer at our company, your role will involve leading the creation, verification, and automation of technical documentation for complex electro-mechanical products. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of MCAD-driven documentation, enabling AI-led automated TPD checking, driving RoHS-compliant component search processes, and providing support to global design teams. Your key responsibilities will include: - Creating, checking, and releasing TPD deliverables such as 2D drawings, manufacturing and assembly drawings, installation and service documentation, and TPD BOMs for electro-mechanical products. - Acting as an MCAD Subject Matter Expert in a Siemens NX/Teamcenter environment to ensure consistent extraction of 2D deliverables from 3D models, correct application of GD&T and DFX, and adoption of Model Based Definition (MBD) with Parts Manufacturing Information (PMI). - Owning cable and cable-routing TPDs by authoring and validating harness drawings, cable routing details, connector pinouts, and cable BOMs to ensure clear mechanical-electrical interface definitions suitable for manufacturing and service. - Designing, developing, and deploying AI-enabled tools and agents to automate TPD checking and 2D drawing review, improving accuracy and reducing review/release cycle time. - Implementing automated checks and scorecards for drawing attributes, BOM reconciliation, tolerance and annotation compliance, and cable routing/connector validations. - Leading RoHS/REACH component compliance searches and workflows, integrating compliance flags with PLM/ERP to prevent shipment blockages. - Integrating automation with PLM/PDM and CAD tool chains (Teamcenter) and ensuring traceability, change-control, and auditability for documentation outputs. - Coaching, mentoring, and developing Band 5 and Band 6 TPD engineers, leading technical reviews, and upholding documentation quality standards. - Providing timely, high-quality remote technical support to global engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality stakeholders. - Tracking and reporting KPIs such as cycle time reduction, automated-check pass rate, RoHS coverage, and productivity gains. Qualifications required for this position include: - University degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline. Masters preferred. Typical experience: 8 years (or Master's + 5 years) in engineering and technical documentation for electro-mechanical products. - Strong hands-on Siemens NX experience and working knowledge of Teamcenter PLM. Preferable experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Parts Manufacturing Information (PMI). - Proven experience authoring and checking cable and cable-routing TPDs (routing, harness drawings, connector pinouts, cable BOMs). - Experience with CAD export/parsing formats (STEP, IGES, Parasolid, DWG/DXF) and integrating checks into PLM/PDM workflows. - Practical understanding of RoHS/REACH requirements and experience performing compliant component searches. - Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and remote collaboration skills. English proficiency B2+. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
