Your role will be to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer by developing solutions for challenging issues such as environmental protection, food safety, and healthcare. Position Summary You will be joining a growing R&D team in Hyderabad as a Staff Mechanical Engineer, supporting sustaining engineering, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and lifecycle management for KingFisher sample preparation systems and Detection instruments. Your responsibilities will include acting as a technical lead for mechanical engineering initiatives, driving design improvements, and ensuring robust mechanical system performance. Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineering Leadership - Act as a technical lead for mechanical systems and subsystems. - Lead design, analysis, and troubleshooting of mechanical components. - Drive root cause investigations for mechanical and system-level issues. - Support design trade-offs, material selection, and tolerance analysis. - Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Management - Lead mechanical workstreams for sustaining activities. - Ensure designs meet reliability, durability, and manufacturability requirements. - Partner with global teams to maintain product continuity. - Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) - Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities within mechanical designs. - Collaborate with sourcing and manufacturing for evaluation of alternatives. - Drive design for cost and scalability across platforms. - System Integration & Technical Contribution - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust system integration. - Contribute to system requirements, interface definitions, and verification activities. - Provide input to technology and product roadmap discussions. - Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Collaborate with global R&D teams to support technical alignment. - Partner with Product Management to align engineering execution with product priorities. - Interface with various departments to resolve issues and improve product performance. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building mechanical engineering capability. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred. - 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for complex products or instrumentation. - Strong experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and tolerance analysis. - Proven ability in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design improvements. - Experience working in cross-functional and global engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with life sciences or analytical instrumentation. - Experience with VAVE, cost optimization, and design for manufacturability. - Familiarity with thermal analysis, fluidics integration, or precision mechanisms. - Experience with regulated product development environments. - Ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
