About the role
As a Staff Software Engineer (AI), you will play a crucial role in leading the design and delivery of innovative AI solutions to drive the technical strategy and accelerate TRs AI-first transformation. Your responsibilities will include: - Building and Architecting AI-Driven Systems: - Designing and implementing complex, enterprise-scale AI systems such as multi-component pipelines and advanced RAG architectures. - Architecting scalable AI model integration strategies using robust APIs, distributed data pipelines, and microservices architectures. - Adapting and customizing AI models for specialized internal domains to drive innovation in business process transformation. - Defining technical standards and best practices for rapid prototyping and solution discovery. - Contributing directly to hands-on delivery, leveraging AI development tools to build and iterate on the systems you design. - Driving Innovation & Technical Strategy: - Leading the evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge AI techniques to solve complex business challenges. - Overseeing proof-of-concept projects and guiding technical feasibility assessments for new AI-driven features. - Keeping abreast of AI research and emerging technologies to translate insights into actionable technical roadmaps. - Initiating innovation initiatives and establishing TRs position in emerging AI technology areas. - Providing Senior Technical Leadership: - Leading technical architecture decisions and translating high-level business requirements into scalable technical specifications. - Fostering technical growth and career development of the team. - Championing MLOps and LLMOps practices in prototyping and delivery phases. - Serving as a senior thought leader by driving technical discussions and representing Forward Engineering at internal events. - Leading Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Embedding directly with business units to develop domain expertise and build stakeholder relationships. - Partnering with business leaders, SMEs, and product teams to co-create solutions and drive adoption. - Documenting solutions and architectural decisions for knowledge transfer and capability building. In addition to the above, required qualifications for this role include: - Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience; Masters degree preferred. - 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in senior or lead roles focused on AI/ML. - Expertise in Python and AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX. - Deep understanding of machine learning principles, evaluation methodologies, and distributed system design. - Experience with MLOps/LLMOps and managing the complete lifecycle of enterprise AI applications. - Proficiency in integrating AI models into production systems using APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-native architectures. - Strong leadership experience, strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
