Job Description: Senior API Developer (Apigee & IBM API Connect V5) Role Overview With the ongoing channel and device proliferation and increasing competition from digital disruptors, APIs are fast becoming the lifeblood of digital transformations for enterprises seeking to thrive and grow in this immensely competitive environment. The NTT Data Digital API Services practice is a one-stop-shop for all API related needs of the customer, right from defining their API strategy and roadmap, business case development, down to prototyping, API development, API management product selection and implementation and managed services.
Responsibilities
Engage with customers to understand their business needs and help them define their API requirements Design and build scalable, secure, and extensible APIs and Microservices that power internal integrations and engaging customer-facing experiences. Provide Technical Analysis, Context Architecture Diagram, Technical Flow diagram, Data Flow diagram, and technical leadership to the development team. Create design templates, tools, and accelerators for API development for the team Evaluate and implement API related tools, products, and platforms for the customer Learn new tools/technologies and upskill the team on them Collaborate with various stakeholders and multiple teams to own the delivery of high-quality end-product for the customer
Role Requirements
BE/B.Tech/MCA or a related field Experience in Apigee and IBM API Connect V5 is mandatory. Experience/certifications with one or more API Management Platform experiences (Mulesoft, Axway, IBM API Gateway etc) will be an added plus. Apigee Certification preferred Experience in migrating from IBM API Connect V5 to Apigee Hybrid or Apigee Edge to Apigee Hybrid or similar migration from one API Gateway to another will be an added advantage. 7+ years of overall experience in IT with 5+ years of architecture and development experience in API and Integrations space 3+ years of hands-on development experience with APIs Experience with one or more programming languages for API development Deep understanding of RESTful architecture principles and their applicability Experience with all stages of the API lifecycle Previous customer-facing experience & Excellent communication skills and team spirit Ability to work independently with globally distributed teams and provide technical leadership/mentoring to junior members in the team Ability to handle the high volume of requests with frequent interruptions and prioritize their own work while taking organization and business needs into account Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies/tools and train the team on them
