Role: API Gateway Engineer
Location/Remote: Remote Duration: Long-term Contract
Job Description: Description
This position will work directly with the API Gateway team. The API Gateway team is responsible for evaluating and implementing integrating solutions to on-board, build and deploy enterprise shared messaging solutions in the Cloud and on-Prem. You will work cross-functionally with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Design Engineers, Developers and Business Analysts in a rapidly evolving environment, identifying solutions, building, and implementing Infrastructure as Code using our CI/CD pipeline. What You Will Do: Serve as subject matter expert on AWS and MuleSoft API Gateway, includes technical assistance to application developers on Middleware related problems. Understand technology vision and strategic direction of business needs. Production support 24/7 for a week, at least once a month. Assess and make recommendations of best-practice solutions and/or new middleware and web technologies that will enhance the capabilities of the existing infrastructure. Participate product roadmaps in alignment with other middleware/cloud products and business roadmaps. Participate in designing integrated solutions with design patterns, blueprints, guidelines, and standard methodologies for products. Assist in developing architecture and design conceptual solutions by incorporating cloud native and 3rd party vendor products. Participate in research and perform POCs (proofs of concept) with emerging technologies and adopt industry best practices, in the middleware space, for cloud migration and hybrid solutions. Successfully troubleshoot production issues application developers can't resolve; may include writing build and deployment scripts. Demonstrate automation as Infrastructure as code (IaC) to increase build efficiency in the cloud. Support both rehydration and HA. Assist the development of validation and certification processes through automation tools. Monitoring - monitor middleware performance and availability Demonstrate collaboration on projects and initiatives as a team member.
Qualifications
Demonstrates mutual respect, embraces diversity, and acts with authenticity. Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills. Subject matter expertise in Middleware products like AWS API GW/MuleSoft API GW and AWS. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; advance degree preferred. 3+ years in design/support of Middleware solutions. Experience in cloud specific solutions related to middleware. Hands on experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Bash Experience with other AWS middleware solutions including various compute and storage offerings.
