About the role
Role: App Developer (Java Lead)
Duration: 12 months contract Location: McLean, VA. Hybrid onsite 3x per week/2x remote days
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Lead Developer to join our team in McLean, VA. This role involves leading the development efforts for a modernization project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development of REST-based APIs and microservices, ensuring robust reporting and monitoring, and managing infrastructure and container orchestration.
Required Skills: Java, Spring/Spring Boot AWS (ECS Lambda, Fargate, CloudWatch) REST-based APIs and microservices
Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of REST-based APIs and microservices. Utilize Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Python, GraphQL, and Gradle for application development. Implement and maintain reporting and monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, and PagerDuty. Manage infrastructure and container orchestration using Docker and AWS services (ECS Lambda, Fargate, CloudWatch). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
