ASP.NET / C# Engineer Remote ONLY ON W2 Project: • Optum is implementing a code quality initiative of over 1800 legacy code repos across the organization. • In the past they have not focused on code quality and vulnerabilities, so they are forming a 10 resource team to focus on improving code quality for the next 12-18 months Responsibilities: • Take in code repos and analyze to identify errors/vulnerabilities – will be working on UI and backend code • Work with QA team to identify fixes, implement them, then deploy the code back into production • Coordinate and manage a team of 2-3 offshore resources – delegating tasks, managing progress • Will NOT be doing net new development – this is 100% code remediation/improvement Must Haves: • ASP.NET, C#, MVC • UI Development experience – Angular is preferred • Microservices/API development & integration experience • Relational DB – SQL Server preferred What is the specific title of the position - Lead Software Engineer. Work location (specify UHG/UHC/Optum location or remote/telecommute) - Telecommute. Work hours (ex. 9am-5pm day/night shifts rotating shifts etc) - 8.00am - 5.00pm day shift. What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position (please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete daily) - • Analyze and understand the functional and technical requirements. • Ability to guide the team but also do hands-on development when needed. • Partner with team members to build robust, efficient, effective solutions. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, and architects. • Implement solutions aligned to the enterprise strategy leveraging strategic tools/technologies, patterns, processes. • Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing technologies and tools, influence technical teams to build the right systems that can scale to the needs of the business. • Build exemplary architecture solutions in terms of efficiency, stability, extensibility, and the ability to evolve over time. • Decompose significantly complex engineering problems into straightforward solutions. • Take the lead on projects that may require the work of several teams to implement and develop code as per design specifications and make sure deliverables comply to coding standards. • Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications. • Participate in Agile/Scrum development process. • Lead team in an onshore/offshore model. What does the ideal candidate background look like - healthcare specific background preferred. What skills/attributes are required (please be detailed as to number of years of experience for each skill) - • 12+ years of experience working with .NET Technologies: C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, WebServices • 5+ years of experience with front-end technologies like Angular and React • 8+ years of experience with SQL Server, MYSQL, Oracle or other comparable RDMS database system • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions • 8+ years of experience with APIs / micro-services • 4+ years of experience with code scanning and security tools for code vulnerability, code quality, secret scanning, penetration testing and threat modeling • 4+ years of experience with leading 2-5 members development teams for large-scale projects • 2+ years of experience with unit testing frameworks What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart) - • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field • Experience in the Healthcare industry • Experience with authorization frameworks like oAuth 2.0, SAML or OpenID Connect • Experience with APM tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk • Experience with NoSQL database like MongoDB, DynamoDB • Knowledge of computing concepts including API design, creating, fault tolerance, available and scalable distributed systems, multithreaded programming, performance tuning, and security • Experience with Linux or Unix platform • Experience with RabbitMQ • Experience with Redis • Experience with event steaming platforms such as Kafka • Proven excellent problem-solving skills • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub actions • 2+ years of experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) • 2+ years of experience with any cloud provider platform __ _ _ Thanks & Regards, Suganya S / US IT RECRUITER Thought wave Software and Solutions 314 N.
