About the role
Position Title: Aws Architect Location: Washington DC (Remote) Duration : 12+ Months contract Client Notes: Well versed and a master AWS domain in engineering and design Hands on exp around best practices, CI/CD Linux exp is required Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Education Details: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Experience: 8 years Experience in Architecture Domain leading architecture initiatives In Lieu of Education In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree; Experience in 2-3 different architecture domains Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Ability to motivate and influence others so that project objectives are met in a timely manner. , Advanced Ability to collaborate with stakeholders develop high quality solutions. , Advanced Ability to coach, delegate, and develop team members., Advanced Proficient in managing cross-domain architecture solutions and impacts., Advanced Expertise with domain related architecture frameworks, methods and tools., Expert Effective organizational, interpersonal/relationship management, analytical, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration., Expert Licenses/Certifications Certified System Architect Upon Hire Pref Preferred: • Qualifications: • 10+ years of overall experience in IT including, with hands-on Development and Systems engineering background • 5+ years of experience with hands on implementation of Containerization (Kubernetes), Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure etc.) 3-5 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role • Experience with Enterprise Cloud transformation efforts • Experience with SRE principles and transformation • 5+ years of experience with hands on implementation of DevOps tool chain (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory, bitbucket, etc.), and technical patterns (IaC, Automated Provisioning/Release, CI/CD, etc.) • Solid understanding of Software coding techniques and experience with full spectrum of Software engineering (Build, Integration, Test, Releasing and Deployment) leveraging Python. • Experience in Developing and/or challenging engineering solutions/practices and collaborating with peers within and outside of immediate team, including customers (Dev, Architects, Engineers) Requirements: Strong skills are required in each of the following areas: Development: Experience programming with one or more languages: Python, Java, Groovy, Go, etc. IAC Tools for Platform Automation: Strong skills and experience in at least one: Ansible, Terraform, etc. Containers: Docker or other OCI-certified containers Container Orchestration Platform : Experience with Kubernetes, and AWS EKS is preferred, However Red Hat OpenShift, Platform 9 is acceptable. CNI Plugins: Calico, Flannel, Weave Net etc. Service Mesh: Istio, AWS App Mesh, OpenShift Service Mesh etc. Container Security Tools: Twistlock, Sysdig, Aqua etc. Platform Monitoring, Observability, & Performance Tools: Nginx, New Relic, AppDynamics, DataDog, Thanos, Jaeger, LogDNA, etc.
DevOps Tools: Git/bitbucket, Jira, Ansible/Puppet, Jenkins/Circleci/Bamboo, Maven/Artifactory/nexus, etc. Others: • Understanding of Cloud Native Architecture • Linux, Shell scripting, and general admin skills • Network, Security, Plugins, & Storage Skills • AWS skills: EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, IAM, VPC, Lambda etc. Nice to have: • AWS Cloud and DevOps certifications Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
