AWS snowflake DBA

Role: AWS snowflake DBA Vendor/Client- Apex/Peraton Location- 100% Remote Rate- $70-$80 per hour on our W2 Status- Must be GC, GC-EAD or US Citizen and on our W2. IV Process- 1 Step Video and then offer Must haves- Must have Snowflake Certification Must have administered an existing Snowflake environment. Must have experience with AWS and Snowflake environment. Apex Systems, LLC is immediately seeking an AWS Snowflake DBA in support of a Leading Government Integrator in Baltimore, MD. The qualified individual will be part of a collaborative and agile team that supports and builds modern, standards-based responsive web applications & systems for mission-critical health IT solutions. The selected candidate will support a centerpiece program focused on the Enterprise Data Warehouse Strategy for a major FedHealth agency. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate prior experience with providing DBA support to AWS Cloud data warehouse utilizing Snowflake, addressing issues, and supporting activities needed to maintain the environment. Location: Baltimore, MD (Fully Remote) Duration: Temp to Perm Compensation: Competitive based on years of relevant experience & education Clearance: Able to obtain & maintain a position of Public Trust Responsibilities: • Manage snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, SnowPipe, Big Data model techniques using Python • Setting up resource monitors, deploying RBAC controls, virtual warehouse sizing and query performance tuning • Deploy snowflake features such as data sharing • Configure Storage integration to access AWS S3 and create stage objects • Work with version control tools (Github) • Configure AWS PrivateLink to access Snowflake account • Applies SME knowledge to solve common & complex data issues within established guidelines & recommends appropriate actions • Supports Cloud migration teams projects with AWS Cloud expertise • Supports operation of the programs Cloud AWS environment • Provide user access/security/release/schedules management • Work with federal and contractor staff to identify cloud migration requirements • Follow established client standards for implementing cloud configurations • Collaborate and coordinates with the other contract Gov task leads as directed Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Masters’ and 6 years, or PhD and 3 years. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. • Must have an active Snowflake certification • Experience with ETL concepts & DWH • Experience using Snowflake SQL and implementing stored procedures • Understanding of Snowflake TimeTravel concepts and zero copy cloning, network policies, clustering, and tasks • Experience with advanced concepts setting up RBAC Controls, Resource Monitors, Virtual Warehouse sizing, and Query performance tuning • Experience with Python connector & Spark connector for Snowflake, as well as Apache • Experience with AWS S3 data storage, privatelink, VPC, EC2 • Experience administering/sizing clusters such as Redshift/Snowflake/Databricks/Hadoop • Experience with version control tools (ideally GitHub) • Experience in CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies and DevOps styled deployments • Must have a background managing Agile teams / projects (Scrum preferred) • Excellent organizational, communication (written & verbal), and time management skills Preferred experience: • Holds and active Public Trust clearance • Experience in consulting to CMS (Centers of Medicare & Medicaid), or Federal Health, or Enterprise Health companies • Experience migrating enterprise level data warehouses from Teradata to Snowflake / AWS Cloud, as well as On-Premises to Cloud.
