AWS Systems Engineer

Job Title : AWS Systems Engineer Location- Need someone that is comfortable relocating or working on in Baltimore, MD area but will be remote for now. An ideal AWS System Engineer candidate would have experience operating in a multi-account AWS enterprise environment, implementing new infrastructure solutions for emerging new requirements and communicating effectively with customer and development teams. The candidate will be part of an operations team supporting multiple development, validation and production environments for web-based applications . The candidate will collaborate with other technology personnel to deploy and manage services in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment. Role and Responsibilities: Creates and manages production and non-production infrastructures using various AWS cloud services Creates automation scripts for provisioning, decommissioning, deploying services, and patching Understands and contributes solutions that improve the reliability of Microservices architecture. Deploys and manages Docker Container Microservices with AWS services Manages development repositories, builds automation and application deployment activities using CI/CD/CT pipelines. Works with AWS support to escalate issues and resolve product limitations Identifies potential scaling issues and defines how to monitor and fix them. Delivers continuous improvement of scripts and templates for repeatable deployments. Participates in Release activities and an on-call rotation - 24x7 environment. Performs as a valuable team member in a fast-paced and often time-sensitive environment. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or having equivalent experience At least 6 years of AWS Enterprise Cloud experience as a System Engineer, including experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, Fargate, Route 53, cloud formation, ECR, etc.) At least 6 years of DevOps (CI/CD/CT) pipeline experience including developing, deploying, and managing automated scripts using Jenkins and integrating microservices using docker containers. At least 6 years of experience supporting a 24x7 Internet-oriented enterprise production environment, preferably across multiple data centers, involving at least hundreds of servers At least 6 years of scripting experience such as shell, python working on common Linux distributions (e.g., Amazon Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Solaris, etc.) At least 3 years of experience with Git version management servers. At least 3 years of experience using configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.) Experience with Agile methodologies. Experience with proactive monitoring of enterprise environments using technologies (e.g., Chartbeat, ExtraHop, NewRelic, and Splunk, etc.).
