About the role
Role: Azure Cloud Engineer/Devops
Duration: 6 months Location: Remote Visa: w2/1099 role Rate: $50/hr (No flex)
Profile 1- Cloud Azure Engineer – ORIGINAL PROFILE Azure Databricks Terraform
Profile 2 – Devops Engineer – NEW PROFILE Azure Databricks Python Pyspark Shell Scripts
Description: All the code is already in production. The resource does not need to write the code from scratch, but be able to analyze, identify problems, troubleshoot and fix current code and deploy. Much more of a cloud resource vs a Data Engineer – more specifically they are going to look for someone who comes from a SE/DE background that has moved more into a Cloud Development role. T his is a production team that maintains certain services and Apps – Primary is Azure, GCP & Snowflake***
Project Scope / Components: 20% GCP and 80% in Azure + Databrick Moving infrastructure to the cloud, it is a production team, after it is built handed to us 80 million users a month EX. Project: How do we predict the cost of having more clients? In the process of going to Jenkins. They use AirFlow, Workflow Orchestrations, they have several virtual consultants
What level is this person?: Mid level candidate, if the candidate is open to learning, and being at Optum long term that is great. Not looking for anyone super senior here.
High-Level Individual Duties: 30-60-90-day plans for this? Build, maintain, troubleshoot Storage, data base, migration, disaster recovery
Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools): H2insights Azure, GCP Data lake and data bricks Python and Spark –expertise Relational DB Partition—how data partitions Terraform/ Github scripts Working in a production support environment Communication/willingness to learn
Nice to Have: Snowflake experience
