About the role
Title: Senior Azure Cloud Engineer Location: Remote in EST Hours – candidates need to sit/live in EST or CST only. Duration: 12 Months
Must Haves: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study and 7+ years of post-graduation experience. 3-5 years of experience in the field of cloud computing with Azure Cloud, along with 1-2 years of experience migrating applications and data warehouse from on-premise to Azure Cloud. 2+ years of Ansible experience. Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD using Terraform. AZ-104 Certification or equivalent strongly preferred. 3-5 Experience with CI/CD workflows, Azure DevOps, Terraform, VMware.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Meets and collaborates with our engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions. Responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. Be able to identify the optimal cloud-based solutions for internal and external business clients and maintain cloud infrastructures in accordance with best practices and Jefferson security and compliance policies. Must have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and should be a team players
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs tasks for the development and/or implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Jefferson’s current Azure Cloud & future cloud AWS including: creating specifications project plans test plans documentation Collaborating with engineering, development, enterprise architecture, and future cloud teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions. Works with Lead Cloud Architect to design, develop and deploy modular cloud-based systems. Maintains cloud solutions in adherence with best practices, Jefferson security and compliance policies. Ensures efficient functioning of compute, network, data storage and processing functions in accordance with Jefferson security & compliance policies and best practices in cloud security.

Experience with one or more automation scripting languages such as Powershell, Bash or Python. Experience with SysOps.
