About the role
Role: Azure Cloud SME
Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire Location: 1331 E. Wyoming Ave. Phila, PA 19124 (3 days a week)
Job Description: Client is creating a Cloud Center of Excellence which consist of: • Security Team • Architecture Team • Infrastructure Team • Financial Team
They are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) to help head this up. This role would be hands-on initially and have the ability to grow into either Principal Engineering role or Manager/Director role as the Azure Cloud practice grows. They are looking at this person to help guide them on this journey to the cloud (note: they will have Microsoft resources help as well so this person is not expected to architect the system). They want someone who has gone through on-prem to cloud transformation in past. Someone who understands that having a plan in place is necessary and understands the core setup.
Examples of that they need to understand: • What type of Firewalls should we use? Azure Firewalls or Palo Alto or other • Do we do a central hub for networking? • What is the best way for us to have subscription management for Azure and how do we best set up groups including security? • What is the financial impact of decision to move to cloud or stay on-prem? • How does moving application to cloud affective the security, infrastructure and architecture teams?
