Azure Data Engineer

Position Title: Sr. Azure Data Engineer Contract length: 6+ months Location: Remote Project: Team supports the reporting for claims data Core team sits in Dublin, Ireland, sister team is in the US This person will report directly to one of the senior data engineers Day to Day: This team is responsible for creating repeatable data pipelines for ingesting claims data from 10+ clients. Right now they are in the process of building out the first data pipelines, then will look to repeat the process for all clients Developing the data pipelines using Snowflake and Azure Data Factory – will need to make tweaks for each client Will look to automate this process in the future – need someone who can think creatively about how to automate, increase efficiency of deploying new pipelines, etc. Must Haves: Snowflake, Azure Data Factory – these are the core tools, non-negotiable, need to be within the same project Other Azure modules they use are Blob Storage and Key Vault Experience with data security, data governance, dynamic masking – there are a lot of restrictions about how this data can be used/moved due to HIPAA Communication skills – will be working with the Dublin team, need to have good communication, someone who is concise, self-starter, driven, etc. Nice to Have: Python coding experience DevOps – experience with CI/CD pipelines Terraform experience Data modeling Healthcare claims data experience Prior UHG experience – ONLY if they’re using Snowflake at UHG, otherwise this is not a benefit Pain Points: Long resumes with a lot of buzz words – 8-10 pages is too many. Need bullet points about specific experience with Snowflake and ADF Communication skills – candidates have seemed uninterested in the project, answers are long-winded and it has been hard for Piyusha to get a word in Candidates she has interviewed prior have been deflecting – would rather them say I don’t know how to use that tool but I can learn it than trying to make up an answer This is NOT a big data engineer – experience with tools like Hadoop, Spark, Scala is not relevant for this role -- -- --- ---- Thanks & Regards, Ujwala Pinninti Thoughtwave Software and Solutions 314 N.
