About the role
Role: Lead Azure Infra Architect
Duration: 6 months to hire Location: Remote Visa: Must work on w2 Rate: $70 (max rate)
Must Haves: • Azure PaaS and IaaS • Strong experience across a variety of Azure cloud services – needing to build these services out to be consumed by their customers • Lift and shift of COTS applications to Azure environment • Candidate MUST have an infrastructure background
Project: Optum connect business model: managed service provider to external contractual customers. They manage but don’t own. Clients ask optum to take over IT services. They build the frameworks and services related to business model. IT services is broken out into all different areas (security/infra/ect) THEIR FOCUS IS INFRA SIDE.
Within infra is: On prem, hybrid cloud, cloud services. This role focus is on cloud services: AWS/Azure. Mostly Azure. Limited in AWS in GCP. Security stuff in order to manage cloud. Profile authentication and management. IS systems Paths services SASS service Powerbi Manage capacity and cost How do you manage benefits from hosting provider Containers work. small portion of work. 5%. They build and define these services for the client. Front to back. How do they deliver, manage, license.
CLOUD SERVICES. Need to be aware of what a cloud service provider is. Not just support infra but actually create pipeline in services to execute. Not just deploying. Building core infrastructure. NOT just support work. Its build work. Not application devops. Its infra dev (using way more code sets)
LEAD LEVEL RESOURCE. Azure/Devops Architect. Shouldn’t put through software engineering background people. These people just don’t work out on the team from previous experience. Need true infra people here.
Customers: Are external. Healthcare usually but other clients as well. They work on contracts for other companies as a managed service provider.
MUST HAVES: Pipeline services: understanding this. Azure devops, Jenkins, terraform, Understanding what does it mean from a cloud service: manage environments, security, greenfield, deploy infra, concepts, manage code in a branch strategy configuration. Devops skills and hands on dev skills. Infra as code experience Cloud services in Azure and AWS. Azure virtual desktop/ect, how do you manage profiles. Pipelining Scripting experience: PowerShell, python, infra as code Security policies and procedures and credentials. Need someone who has this experience in the past. Needs to get hands on but also help with strategy and architecture. Help consult on solutions. 85% azure 10% AWS 5% google. Years of experience doesn’t matter but need to be technically strong. “How do you ensure code you are deploying has no secrets, how do I ensure security of code, how do I secure my pipeline”
