Role: Azure SQL DBA
Duration: 12 months Locations: Chandler, AZ/Irving, TX/Minneapolis, MN/Charlotte, NC/Des Moines, IA Visa: w2 role Rate: $65/hr on w2

Description: We are looking for an experienced database administrator to support and optimize SQL Managed Instance environments on Microsoft Azure. This position requires expertise with cloud-based database administration and SQL PaaS offerings.
Responsibilities
• Manage and monitor SQL Managed Instance PaaS instances on Azure • Utilize capabilities like auto-tuning, auto-backup, and auto-patching to simplify administration • Perform migrations from on-premises or IaaS databases to Managed Instance using tools like DMS • Configure Managed Instance VNets, subnets, NSGs, UDRs, and ExpressRoute connectivity • Optimize database performance tuning using features like memory grants and I/O prioritization • Establish High Availability using Managed Instance failover groups and availability zones • Develop T-SQL scripts and stored procedures to support applications • Integrate Managed Instance with other PaaS services like Synapse Analytics and App Services
Requirements
• 5+ years administering SQL Server on cloud IaaS or PaaS platforms • Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance administration and architecture • Familiarity with Azure networking concepts like VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway • Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery approaches on Managed Instance • Background in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting • Scripting skills for automating administrative tasks using PowerShell • Solid grasp of T-SQL programming, stored procedures, transactions, locking • Ability to translate on-premises applications and data to Managed Instance
