Build and Release Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Client Department is seeking contract resources for the role of Build and Release Software Developer.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB: Strategically plan builds and deployments to multiple non-prod and production environments using Microsoft Azure DevOps / GitHub. Oversee source code repositories, branching, merging and automated code reviews. Build and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines to utilize CI/CD best practices. Collaborate with QA, Development, and IT in configuring, implementing, testing and debugging the enterprise applications and systems. Resolve issues that affect software release scope, risk, and quality. Consult with testers, database administrators, and developers to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Suggest architecture improvements and recommend process improvements. Identify potential issues preventing the successful delivery of services or solutions. Expected to write documentation to describe operational procedures and change controls.

Organizational Position:

The Build and Release Software Developer works directly with development team leaders and reports to the Application Development Manager and complies with Systems Architecture and Operations guidelines.

Experience required Qualifications:

Proficient understanding of Visual Studio Team Services GIT and CI/CD with Pipelines Proficient with Azure DevOps YAML, Task Groups, and Libraries Exhibit excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Excellent communication and analytical skills Ability to work in remote team environment and client interfacing skills MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Requires a minimum a bachelor's degree or foreign or experiential equivalent in a related field as minimum requirement placement and is classified as a "Specialty Occupation" in support of the Judicial Branch of Client Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Build tools such as XAML, YAML, Git, Docker, Gradle, Jenkins and other CI/CD tools

Cube areas in office Additional job information Using Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise; Create deployment plans/pipelines to include backup and validation of software deployments to multiple environments. Manage, automate and improve build processes using code repositories and integration tools Implement and configure new application builds and release pipelines as required, including but not limited to web applications, web services, windows services and scheduled tasks. Ensure accuracy of logs maintained for all implementation/deployment requests. Using Visual Studio [CurrentVersion]; Assist with debugging enterprise application issues to resolve problems in our test and production environments by reviewing errors and program code. Assist with development and utilization of automated testing. Coordinate among Operations, QA, IT, and Development for issues relating to software deployments. Negotiate and plan release activities for any environment between Operations, QA, IT and Development. Comply with attendance policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
