Role:Business Intelligence Engineer

Location:hybrid onsite contract position out of Boston MA onsite 2-3 days a week in the first week of the contract Duration:12 months

SQL, AWS, TABLEAU, SCRIPTING IN PYTHON AND EXPERIENCE WITH DATA VISUALIZATION TOOLS LIKE GRAFANA ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS Experience working with Robotics will be nice to have.

Job Description:

What You Will Do You will work cross-functionally with engineering teams, program managers, operations partners, and leaders throughout the organization to deliver dashboards and tools aimed at characterizing and improving the performance of robotic automation technology in Amazon's network of warehouses. You will use a combination of unified and disparate data sources to develop automated data visualizations and influence the development, deployment, and fine-tuning of cutting edge robotic technology. You work with partner teams to refine the BI and visualization space across Amazon Robotics and create bar raising data visualization standards. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Program Managers to define and deliver world class analytics tools and insights to shape the robotic technology landscape.

A data visualization specialist with a passion for delivering insightful and influential data story-telling solutions to challenging and ambiguous problems. A practiced analyst, who can help us build a suite of tools to enable self-service deep dive analysis, model driven insights through intuitive user interfaces, and scalability across the Amazon network. We are seeking an individual to can think holistically through compound problems to understand how systems work together and define how we represent these systems in dashboards and tools.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelors in quantitative field (Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent)

  • Experience building advanced data visualizations in Tableau to create end-to-end dashboard solutions to effectively convey results to a wide range of users

  • Expertise in defining a data visualization identity for a department or company, and building data products within that brand

  • Advanced knowledge in writing and optimizing SQL to handle extremely large datasets

  • Ability to consume and manipulate large data sets and articulate its business impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in quantitative field (Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent)

  • 6+ years relevant experience in areas such as data and business analytics, statistical modeling, or data science

  • Experience using additional visualization tools such as QuickSight or Grafana

  • Familiarity with AWS and big data analytic tools (EMR, AWS Athena)

  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling

  • Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects and drive results

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, an ability to effectively communicate with business, leadership, and technical teams, as well as the motivation to mentor partner Business Intelligence Engineers on visualization best practices

  • Experience using test / control methodology

  • Working knowledge in scripting with R/Python for statistical analysis
