Role: C#/.Net Financial Developer Location: Can sit 100% remote... BUT they really want someone who can come onsite occasionally so priority will be given to local candidates first.( Baltimore, Maryland) Duration: 6+ months Required Skills Priority will be given to LOCAL candidates... or candidates within a drivable distance to Baltimore, MD 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience Expert knowledge in one or more programming language(s) – C#/Python/Java Proficient on Linux platforms with knowledge of various scripting languages Familiarity with a variety of programming styles (e.g. OO, functional) and in-depth knowledge of design patterns Strong Test-Driven Development and desire to write simple, adaptive and iterative code Enthusiastic embrace of DevOps culture and collaborative software engineering Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain a close working relationship with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Support Personnel, other engineers, and senior business people alike Job Description Apex Systems currently has an immediate opening for a C#/.Net Developer with Financial industry experience or Charles River experience in the greater Baltimore area with one of our larger financial clients. The developer would be a part of a team that is employing new technology paradigms such as cloud computing, lightweight microservices, and distributed and non-relational databases to deliver elastically scalable, globally distributed and highly resilient software services. In addition, they are utilizing capabilities such as low-touch and high-touch workflows intelligently augmented with data-driven algorithms to compound on the creativity and ingenuity of our investors. C#/SQL/AWS Dev. ‘straight coder’ – needs AWS vs Azure - Dev Ops is nice to have - A few apps their building for Saas program, C# backend, Web ‘Gooey?’, Mudblazer, serverless and Lambda’s. - Building out an application that monitors and supports the application within Charles River - If you’re strong AWS knowledge over C# could work out - Financial industry is ‘helpful’, banking/investment experience – he can’t explain to a stock to them - SR level - Communications - Needs to be hands on - East coast hours only - Some signs to look for – CI/CD on their resume or GitLab as a repository, will be more modern development experience. Make sure they can tell the story in the resume. o Developers that say they can do anything – tend to be mediocre. o Looking for someone that specializes in APIs. o Built APIs, Rest APIs, any web dev is not a fit.. unless it’s just one job. o App dev focus but web dev in resume o Don’t look for .Net MVC or Javascript frameworks, very little AWS Wants to see Core C# API Dev SQL Server Experience.
